Collection: Gardening Workshops
SteadyState™ is happy to offer a curriculum of 2.5-hour gardening workshops for gardeners and plant lovers.
If you are a beginner, these courses are designed to take the “edge” off of your initial gardening experience. If you are an experienced gardener, there is plenty of opportunity for interaction with our resident agronomist and soil scientist Mauricio Avila who has a Ph.D. in Soil Chemistry from the Department of Soil Science at UW-Madison. He was also the Lab Manager for UW Soils lab for 2 years, so feel free to ask away!
We have workshops designed with presentations and hands-on activities for the best use of our time together. We will have different samples of soils, potting mixtures, fertilizers, plants, gardening tools, etc. to interact and learn with. We will learn to do basic texture, by hand, of soil samples, recognize various fertilizers, compare new vs sharpened tools, etc. Come prepared to get your hands dirty and bring a pair of comfortable work gloves.
Workshops will be given in the NRU/SteadyState offices at 507 Bruce Street, Verona WI 53593. Masks will be required, and social distancing will be enforced.
