You will learn:

 The basics about various soil fertility parameters such as pH and liming needs, nutrients, texture, and structure

 How to take a soil sample and send it for a lab analysis

 Generalities about primary nutrients and their value in plant and human nutrition and the various nutrients sources you can use in your gardening activities

 Basics of plant nutrition, timing of nutrient use by the plants, and sources of information for learning about nutrient deficiencies in various crops.

This course is led by agronomist and soil scientist Mauricio Avila, who has a Ph.D. in Soil Chemistry from the Department of Soil Science at UW-Madison. To reserve your spot, register by May 26!
