principles for preparing soil and substrate mixes for pots and raised beds
Soil preparation for in-soil gardens
Light and watering needs for various planting systems
How to assess your fertilizer needs, tips for purchase of fertilizers, and strategies for best use of various fertilizers
Use of amendments for adjusting soil pH depending on types of plants you want to grow
This course is led by agronomist and soil scientist Mauricio Avila, who has a PhD in Soil Chemistry from the Department of Soil Science at UW-Madison.
